From Monday, August 21 through Thursday, August 24 several roads around UBC will be closed due to repaving work.
We appreciate everyone’s patience as much needed road repaving is completed before the new school term. Please refer to the road closures map and adjust your route to and from campus to avoid delays.
All roadwork on August 21 to August 24 takes place from 7:30 am to 7 pm.

University Boulevard Closed Westbound
University Boulevard from Blanca to Acadia Road will be closed by the UEL for roadwork until the end of August (including Saturdays). Cyclists are encouraged to use the multi-use pathway on Chancellor Boulevard or the bike lane on 16th Avenue to get to campus and are not encouraged to ride in the eastbound bike lane on University Boulevard. The Chancellor Boulevard detour to Acadia Road is only 900m longer than taking the University Boulevard route (a 2-3 minute ride).
Pavement Repainting from August 28
Pavement markings will be repainted the week of August 28th. No significant closures will be required, but some delays should be expected when crews are on the road painting for a few minutes at a time.
Move-In Days August 20 & September 2– Expect traffic delays
Student residence move-in starts on August 20 and continues September 2. Expect multiple road closures on campus to accommodate the high traffic volumes. It is highly recommended to avoid campus on move-in day if possible. All road closures are easily opened in the event of an emergency.
