Traffic Management Plans

A construction Traffic Management Plan (TMP) is required in cases where construction activities will impact the public domain and activities on campus, particularly pedestrians, cyclists, transit buses and motor vehicles. The objectives of a TMP are that:

  • Public safety is maximized and maintained at all times.
  • Impacts to the public domain are minimized, and are avoided during peak university operating hours between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm on weekdays.
  • Access is maintained for all modes of transportation, with priority given to pedestrians, cyclist, transit and goods movement.

A TMP is to be prepared by the project proponent and submitted to UBC Campus & Community Planning for approval, prior to any construction activities being undertaken. The TMP should address all items from the Terms of Reference, unless specifically excluded with the agreement of UBC Campus and Community Planning staff.
